A 1972 stone villa by Moya Orsini-Reed, rebuilt in 2019 around its original staircase and an unreasonable olive tree.
Villa Solano faces almost directly into the tramontana, the north wind that arrives in October and stays until March. Orsini-Reed aligned every room to it — so that the residence breathes in winter and closes, courtyard-like, in summer.
In the 2019 restoration, the original stone staircase was reopened, the roof returned to local slate, and the reading tower rebuilt with a glazed north wall. The olive grove — 108 trees, planted by the first owner's mother in 1953 — was left entirely alone.
The villa sleeps eight across four bedrooms. Two of them share a long terrace that takes the first hour of sun. A third opens, in summer, onto the inner patio.
