A Haussmann top-floor conversion above the Seine. Parquet de Versailles, restored plaster vaults, and the Eiffel Tower from the bedroom.
Penthouse Rivoli occupies the full sixth floor of an 1887 Haussmann building on the Quai d'Orsay. The conversion, completed in 2016 by Lefebvre-Moreau & Associés, added no floor space and changed almost nothing visible. The mandate was to restore, not to modernise.
The parquet de Versailles floors are original. They were lifted plank by plank, stored for fourteen months, and re-laid over new underfloor heating by the same atelier that restored the Palais-Royal's floors in 2011. The plaster vaults, cornices, and ceiling roses were restored by hand over eighteen months by a team of four.
Four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a library with a sliding ladder and six thousand books included, and a 58-metre rooftop terrace with an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower from the first platform to the summit.
