Penthouse Meridian

Penthouse Meridian is the crown of a 2023 residential tower by Studio Rhenium, positioned at the intersection of Knightsbridge and Hyde Park. The defining feature is a six-metre double-height living room designed to be empty: a single volume of pale limestone and light, furnished only by the park below.

Studio Rhenium specified Portland limestone throughout the living and dining floors, with all hardware and joinery in brushed warm brass. The kitchen is a single monolithic island of honed Patagonia quartzite, twelve feet long, with no visible appliances. The effect is spare in the way that very expensive things often are.

Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a study, and a 180-metre private roof garden planted by landscape architect Celia Hartmann-Cross with specimens from the Royal Botanic Gardens. A private lift from the basement garage opens directly into the penthouse entrance hall.
